Changes afoot...

iNik.net just got upgraded to Drupal 6. While it was a fairly clean upgrade, in order to take full advantage of it, I kind of pulled it apart and am in the process of putting it back together. It’s likely that some stuff simply won’t work right. If you find bugs, contact me and I’ll get on ‘em.

A quick-post bookmarklet for Drupal

Perhaps I’m being dense, but I’ve spent about four hours today trying to get a decent quick-post bookmarklet set up for Drupal. (And no, this isn’t a version 5 problem, I’ve never had such a thing.)

While I found many sites that had advice on crafting an appropriate URL, none of them mentioned that I needed the prepopulate module in order for any of them to work.

Just upgraded to Drupal 5.1

I just upgraded the site to Drupal 5.1.

The upgrade appears to have gone smoothly (this site’s theme notwithstanding — working on that), but there may still be bumps in the road. Please let me know if you find anything out of order.

I hate Drupal's themes

Okay, yet another theme on this site. This one’s pretty and Mac-like, but it’s also clonesville. I really need to put some time into skinning this site right, but I just can’t get excited about web design.

So, we’ll try this for a bit. It’s more usable, if a tad more garish, than the one I had before.

You can now comment without registration

Thanks to the lovely Akismet plug-in for Drupal, I’m now permitting comments for unregistered visitors. Of course, if you register you get all kinds of great new features (like the ability to come back and edit your comments), but I always hated forcing folks to register just to leave a note.

Uploads work now

Thanks to a diligent reader, Luke, I found out that the Disk Node module I use to host downloads wasn’t working. As a result, only site administrators could download files. Don’t I feel stupid!

So, I ditched Disk Node and just added the files as attachments. I don’t get a download count anymore, but at least you can get the files.

Sorry about that!
